Very fun weekend!!

We had a wonderful time on Saturday. We are all tired but it was worth it. When the kids were in the NICU we met 4 other familys. We all stayed at the Ronald Mcdonald house also. Between us five familys we have 12 kids. We all have multiples we had two sets of triplets and 3 sets of twins. Mine are the youngest of the group and the oldest ones were born on Feb 1 of 2006. The time we had together we all became pretty close and their were plenty of times we would get yelled at. We all visit our kids during the day of course and then at night we would meet back up at the house. Then we would always get real loud and get into trouble but it was fun. We had a lot of good times, we didn't spend much time together but with in a couple of weeks we all got close. So today we all got together and had our 3rd annual halloween party. It gets more and more fun every year. The first year the kids were all still pretty young, last year the kids didn't play much with eachother. Today was a different story they all pretty much had a blast and then the one family brought a bounce house and blew that up. The kids had a blast. We had 9 2 year olds in there at once. The one family had to leave early. Even knows it is great to see everyone it is also hard on me. When I see the other set of triplets which are all girls it makes me sad that I don't have that anymore. I so badly want Hayden back such a huge part of us is gone. It is also hard to watch all the other kids run around and Preston can't. Don't get me wrong he can get around and he gets what he wants but it would be so nice to see him running around and doing stuff on his own. He did get in the bounce house and the other kids would jump around in it and even on him at times and made him bounce. He loved it and thought it was funny. I am glad that we got to go and we are already looking forward to next year. So we had eleven 2 1/2 year olds and 2 10 month olds. Yes the one family has 2 set of twins and they are all under the age of three. Then on Sunday aunt Jessica and Uncle Fred took the babies for a couple of hours. They got to go pick some more pumpkins and play with their big cousins who they love to death. Maddie is Bradyn's girl she loves him. Here are some picutres

Ready for the season to be over

It is turning out to be another stressful week. We are getting over the colds and stuff but now am afraid that we are getting the stomach flu. Last year at this time the kids were sick once and that was it. We have been sick it seems like forever already this season. We don't get RSV shots this year so I am getting scared on what kind of year it is going to be. Maddie has something going on but don't know what. I have washed the same set of sheets twice today cause of blowouts. She has spit up some twice today also. First time I think it was because she choked on her meds this morning. This afternoon I am not sure why and she even did it right at my feet. Isn't she so thoughtful. Let's hope it isn't anything and it goes away real soon. Preston is suppose to get his other implant in a little over three weeks and i have to keep him healthy and us. Just reminder to those of you that visit us. If you are not feeling well or have been around anyone that has been sick please do not come over. We still have a chance of getting RSV which also means a chance of being admitted to the hospital if the kids get it. As they get older are chance is less as they get stronger but as you can see this year is already been rough just this season. So I am going to be more careful again. It isn't fun having two sick kids that need you at the same time with two different things and you can only do one thing. It is exspecially hard when you are trying to clean up a child and the other one is being nosey so wants to help you or something.

Sick Kids!!

The kids are still sick. Scott and I are feeling a little better but the kids aren't doing to great. It has been a snotty full week. Maddie has been running a fever since the weekend, nose is starting to run like crazy and has a little cough. I was letting the illness run it's course but that is hard. Preston is not feeling good at all. He cried yesterday evening for about 2 hours and we could not do anything for him at all. I got him to settle down by laying him in my bed with me and we watched tv. He feel asleep in my arms but when i went to move cause my arm was hurting he woke up. He didn't sleep very good last night. Didn't really scream all night but fussed alot. I am a mean mommy and didn't get him up like I should of. I got the kids up this morning from their cribs and Preston's ear was really nasty. I got to looking at it and could tell it was infected. I called the Doctor's and got them both in. The one time I can not get anyone to go with me to the Dr's. So I took the kids to the doctor by myself. I finally did it and made it. I am wore out now but at least I know I can do it. I do take the kids to other places by myself but a doctors visit can be pretty stressful. Anyway Preston's eardrum busted I guess. The doctor then gave him a shot of antibotics to help clear it up sooner. His ear that is infected big time is his ear that is implanted. Every ear infection scares the crap out of me. He has a device in his head cause of the implant and it dosen't take much to scare me that his device is going to get infected. It is really red behind his ear right now so no implant for a couple of days. I am not going to make him wear it. He hurts you can not touch his ear at all. He is on antibotic now and ear drops. Which are not fun to do. Maddie also has an ear infection but it is just starting so basically her cold turned into an ear infection. Please pray that Preston dosen't get any worse and that it clears up with out hurting him or his implant. If his implant would get an infection he would most likely it will have to be removed.

Update on the kids!!

I said I would post last week after our Akron appointments. I forgot to do it and then got busy. The kids are both sick. If they are not better by tomorrow we might be making a trip to the doctor. The appts on Thursday went really good. Scott gets the idea of having two 2 1/2 year olds at the hospital for about 6 hours. I think he was more tired then the kids. He is an awesome daddy and does his share of stuff around here with the kids but he is just now getting the idea of all the Dr's appointments. The appointments in them selfs can be very stressful and then trying to keep the babies happy is a different stress. He doesn't get to go to many of them because of work but he is going to a few of them. Preston first had a swallow study to see if he still needed his drinks thickened, we haven't been doing it for a couple of months but needed to make sure he didn't need it anymore. He passed and we are good to go now. Then we ate lunch in the cafeteria and went to the other appointments. Madison saw Preston's one doctor for the first time to see if she might have cerebral palsy also. The doctor looked over her NICU records and was shocked on how well Madison is doing. She is watching her and we are increasing her therapy to help her along some. She might have some cerebral palsy but they are not sure that is what it is right now. She is giving us a few concerns so we are going to watch her for the next couple of months and go from there. Madison also weighed in at 23 pounds she is getting big. Preston is weighing in at 26 pounds of course they are sick now and Madison has probably lost weight. Preston is going to have to go through another round of Botox in his legs. I am still waiting on details on that and when it is going to be done. We are afraid that his tightness in his legs is keeping him from doing more. He is doing awesome and we are amazed by him everyday but he isn't doing anything new lately and that has us concerned. At times when you watch him move it is almost like he doesn't know that he has legs at all. So we are hoping that with the Botox that he will be able to move more. We are worried that it hurt him and make him not do as much but it is a chance we have to take right now. We won't know unless we do it. Botox doesn't last long and this might be something he will have to get more often. He had a round of it in January so for us to last until now is good. Here is a couple pictures

Just felt like writing

I have noticed that I have not posted on here in awhile. I guess that could be a good thing. I don't seem to get very many readers on this blog anyway. I wish this could be like the other blogs I read. You know where they are real funny and get the audiences attention and makes you want to come back for more everyday. There are several blogs I read daily and most of them are to get a good laugh at. I love to read how other people's lifes are some of them have multiples and some of them have deaf children. I like to read about them to get another standpoint on what we are going through. Sometimes when you are a parent of a special needs child you feel like you are the only in the world. You feel like you are the only one that is going through what you are going through. Lately I have been feeling like this alot. I feel alone most of the time and no matter how many people I talk to about the kids I still feel alone.
Anyway enough of me whining. The kids are doing really well for the most part. Preston has been really cranky and driving me nuts but he is getting his top two year molars and I think they are about all the way through so he should be good soon. I hope so anyway. Maddie has been Maddie. She is getting pretty poliet and it is funny to hear her say pleassse. She signs it also and gives us this cute little face that mainly gets her what she wants. She is so funny at times. When Preston does something right like playing with a toy or something. She will go yea boo yea!! It is so funny she is his personal cheerleader. Preston is doing pretty good with the hearing. He still isn't much of anything new but we will get there. He goes in the beginning of October to get testing done on his right ear. We are seeing if he is still able to get an implant on that side also. I am not sure what the point of this post was. I guess just so I can ramble on and feel important. We do have an Akron appt tomorrow so I will update when we get home.

Watch this video!!

This video I found on antoher blog that I visit. She has triplets also and one has cerebral palsy. This is amazing to listen to. This was written by an 8th grader who in my mind has more understanding of difference then most of us adults do. She must be an awesome young lady and she will go far.

I like this poem!!!

I asked God . . .

I asked God to take away my pain.

God said, No.

It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.

God said, No.

Her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary.

I aksed God to grant me patience.

God said, No.

Patience is a by-product of tribulations, it isn't granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness.

God said, No.

I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.

God said, No.

Suffering draws you apart from worldy cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.

God said, No.

You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.

God said, No.

I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me Love others, as much as he loves me.

God said, . . . . Ahhh, finally you have the idea.
